Wim Heesakkers was born in Son en Breugel, The Netherlands, the country of Rembrandt, Vermeer, Van Gogh, Mondriaan and Appel. He is an autodidact who works and lives in the woods of Lieshout. His house is designed by the famous Dutch architect Gerrit Rietveld, and the green surroundings are a never ending source of inspiration. His art contains themes of love, life and joy and are approached in a light manner and with a glint in the eye.The artist exhibits in The Netherlands and increasingly abroad.
